Backing up to the server-directions for district server
It is vital that you keep your important documents backed up. The server to which you have access to file storage and management is the staff.cmcss.net server. On the occasions where your computer will need to be wiped and restored,It is your responsibility to have your documents backed up.

Teachers and students have access to a school server. This is a storage place for you and your students to save projects, documents, and pictures. This server will allow you to access saved documents within the school system.

Technology Work Orders
The system for requesting repair for all technology and troubleshooting for software on teacher and student computers. Teachers are responsible for requesting repairs for the equipment they use, whether it is in their own classrooms or in shared resources, such as mobile labs. http://techworkorders.cmcss.net. The district chose Microsoft Office 365 for student email since it is a safe, monitored email system. The program also allows for global communication and collaboration as classrooms/teachers from all over the world propose projects and ideas for virtual collaboration in many curriculum content areas. Technology Integration Coaches serve every school throughout the school year mentoring, modeling, and assisting teachers and students in utilizing technology to address content standards. During the school year, technology integration coaches are available on scheduled dates in each school to plan, collaborate, mentor, and model for the school's faculty. Additional in-person, email, phone, and video conferencing support is offered, as needed.
In-services are offered throughout the year and during the summer break. These are listed on PLAN. Please read descriptions carefully and note, pre-requisites for required classes, start dates and communication methods, descriptions, and FAQs for courses for which you sign up.
Please bring your teacher laptop to ALL technology in-service sessions. Since you are being paid at your regular daily rate for in-service days, please do not bring your children with you, arrive late, or ask to leave early.

Operating Systems
Your computer is set to periodically update both firmware and software installed on your computer. When you are prompted to run an update and install new components to make existing programs function better it is important that you let those updates run and install to your system. Create folders to organize your documents.
Make a practice of moving or saving documents in your Documents folder on your hard drive whenever possible.
To Create A Folder - On a PC right click > New > Folder and give the folder a name. On a Mac go File > New Folder and give the folder a name. This will place your folder on the desktop.
Social Bookmarking allows users to bookmark websites that can be shared with friends, family, students, and colleagues. These saved bookmarks are stored on the internet, not on a specific computer.
Diigo and SymbalooEDU are popular social bookmarking sites that allows you to create your own account and share it with whomever you wish. The power of a social bookmarking service is that you have access to all your bookmarks from any computer that has internet. Just log in to your account and your bookmarks are right there no matter which computer you use.
Each teacher has a Google Drive using their CMCSS credentials. The login is the teacher CMCSS email address and the password is something created by the teacher. Using the CMCSS Google Drive, the teacher has unlimited drive storage and Google Classroom ability.
